Geuntaek Yoo - Geuntaek Yoo Solo Exhibition

21+Yo Galley, Tokyo 2005

Encountering a good work of art by an unknown artist is more delightful than unexpectedly brushing past a beautiful man or woman. An attractive person can arouse an emotional response, but a work of art can do more than that. It teaches us that there is an imperishable quality in the world, a principle or method that provides the groundwork for emotion.

Kunsthaus Bregenz, Austria 2011.01

Kukje Gallery is very pleased to announce the opening of Haegue Yang’s new exhibition at the Kunsthaus Bregenz. In addition to showcasing a selection of her most important works, Yang has also created 33 new light sculptures that enigmatically populate the third floor like alien life-forms. What is more, the artist has created her largest installation to date for the Bregenz show, consisting of approximately 200 aluminum venetian blinds, which will occupy the museum’s entire second floor with an impressive weightlessness.

Seungyoung Kim - Home & Away

Goyang Art Studio 2009.04

The clouds are so high in the sky, so we can see only the bottom. That's why the cloud seems flat all the time. But in the work of Kim SeungYoung, we can experience the cloud as if it is at the level of our eyes. As a formless mass, the cloud moves like a living creature.

Seungyoung Kim - Sound Effects Seoul Radio

Art space hut 2008.08

With a motif from the Tower of Babel in the Bible, Hello is a sound-work addressing the issue of communication. In this work, the phrases “Hello” and “I don’t know what you’re saying” repeat in 10 different languages, clashing with each other, while in the background a father reads to his baby from the early-learning book, Good Night Moon, by Margaret Brown.

Seungyoung Kim - Mindscape

Gallery Bundo 2008.06

Elevator is a single-channel video featuring an elevator that keeps moving. Seeing this elevator on a rainy day, it brings about a feeling like a dance of life, danced to music. This video captured the up and down continuous movement with a dim focus, spiced with music. It offers the impression of the unrealistic and often hazy world.
