Guggenheim Museum has acquired Yang Haegue’s A Series of Vulnerable Arrangements—Voice and Wind. Oct 21 2011
Kukje Gallery is pleased to announce that Yang Haegue’s A Series of Vulnerable Arrangements—Voice and Wind, has been recently acquired by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.

Yang, who currently travels between Berlin and Seoul, first unveiled the works at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009 then exhibited the work again in 2010, at her solo show at the New Museum in New York.

A Series of Vulnerable Arrangements—Voice and Wind, is one of her signature works which utilizes blinds as a part of the installation. The critical acclaim garnered from the installations at prestigious venues such as the Venice Biennale and the New Museum served as an impetus for the acquisition at the Guggenheim, and it secured her status as an internationally renowned artist.

Previous to this occasion, Yang’s other works have also been acquired by significant institutions such as the Walker Art Center (2007, Series of Vulnerable Arrangements – Blind Room), Pittsburgh Carnegie Museum (2009, Series of Vulnerable Arrangements - Domestics of Community) and the Museum of Modern Art in New York (2010, Sallim).
