| Introduction |
We would like to welcome and thank you all to come to Chung Jark Gallery.
Since opening of the gallery in 1987, we have been opening invitational exhibitions for the distinguished and celebrated artists for about year average 10 times covering various realm of fine arts including Korean traditional painting, Western painting, sculpture and print, etc., and marking 10th anniversary of the gallery we had instituted 'Chung Jark Art Award' aiming to support the promising young artists, preserving the professional gallery's tradition and unique character.
During the past 20 years, I, the director, have steadily dedicated to support and taking care of the auditory handicapped son while operating and curating the gallery.
Together with late Woonbo Kim, Ki Chang, the conspicuous master of art, had opened many times of the handicapped artists invitational exhibition, inspiring them to overcome their physical handicap through their exhilarated engagement in the art.
My son has now grown up to be a perky young man far more than I had expected, and is teaching at a college as a professional sculptor. There is no suitable word for me to express my thanks for my son's success in his life despite of the auditory handicap.
We, Chungjark gallery, have attended many international art exhibitions such as Germany's Koelon Art Fair , New York, Hong Kong, Sydeny, Spain and Shanghai, etc. for the further development of art culture.
Our repeated participation in these international art fairs have devoted in establishing a pitive position of local art in the international art world by introducing a diverse spectrum of art.
