“The Keyhole” installation by Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf is part of his first solo show in Korea at Gallery Kong in the art zone east of Gyeongbok Palace, central Seoul.

The 53-year-old Olaf, who is well known for his work in the advertising and fashion industries, has branched out into art in the past few decades.

This exhibition features “Keyhole,” a series of photos that explores people’s hidden desire for peeping.

The gallery said Olaf was drawn to the subject because of his years of peering through a viewfinder as a commercial photographer.

The show also includes Olaf’s other series, “Dusk and Dawn.” Both series of photos are set in indoors with delicate light and shadows and will remind viewers of the golden age of the Dutch masters. Olaf has acknowledged the inspiration he derived from Johannes Vermeer.

The show runs through Sunday. Admission is free.
