The Seoul Arts Center, Hangaram Museum, Seoul, presents "200 Artworks – 25 Years", the travelling exhibition of all works made by artists for Parkett from Dec 17 – Feb 25, 2011.

Commissioned by Parkett, since 1984 some 200 of the most compelling artists of our time have created works that represent the essence of their art or reveal an unexpected dimension. Highlights from the exhibition include, Hirst's ping-pong ball hovering on the hot air of a hair dryer, Koon's iconic inflatable sculpture, Ai Weiwei's handy gilded fly swatter, Meret Oppenheim's pair of gloves, Anish Kapoor's spatial funnel contraption, Warhol's photo print of skeletons, Maurizio Cattelan's tongue-in-cheek portrait and others.

Parkett's aim to produce a vehicle of direct confrontation with art led to the creation of a publication that is artist-driven; each art work relates to a particular publication. The works cover every possible medium including painting, page art projects, photographs, drawings, prints, sculptures, videos, DVDs and sound pieces. Seen at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and more recently on display at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Japan, and at STPI, Singapore, this exhibition provides a concise overview of developments in contemporary art over the last quarter century and introduces to the Korean art audience the full and remarkable scope of Parkett's direct collaborations with artists.

The exhibition space is transformed into five rooms: a Studio, a Playroom, a Garden, a Wardrobe and a City. The exhibition ends with a Reading Room where viewers can browse in Parkett's library and 1400 texts and Inserts (page art projects). Also on view are artists' sketches, letters and other material documenting the direct collaboration between Parkett and the artists with audiovisual presentations.

A complete catalogue raisonné in Korean is published for this show featuring 460 pages with full page color illustrations and detailed descriptions of all artworks. Three essays by the exhibition curators Shim Chung and Hongki Chae and Deborah Wye (Chief Curator Emeritus, Prints and Illustrated Books, MoMA, New York) as well as chapters on Parkett's inserts, spines, covers, and artists documents round up the comprehensive publication.
