피터 위어( Peter Weir) 감독의 영화 트루먼 쇼(The Truman Show)엔 트루먼 버뱅크(Truman Burbank: 짐 캐리)라는 평범한 샐러리맨이 주인공이다. 하지만 사실 그는 하루 24시간 생방송 되는 리얼리티 쇼- 트루먼 쇼의 주인공이다. 이 쇼의 연출자는 세계에서 가장 큰 스튜디오를 지어 거대한 돔 안에 3백 가구가 사는 "씨헤븐" 이라는 작은 마을을 건설하여 마치 창조주처럼 시청자들에게 즐거움과 스릴, 슬픔과 감동을 주기 위한 상황을 연출한다. 리얼 드라마의 목적은 현실감 있는 "진짜 삶"을 들여다보고자 하는 욕망에서 시도 되는 것이다. 거짓과 허상으로 둘러싸인 트루먼의 삶은 영화를 보고 있는 우리의 삶과 유사하고, 나아가 현실의 삶을 이끌어간다. 작가 윤지영은 솔직하다. 그의 말엔 꾸밈도 거짓도 없다. 사실보다 더 사실적으로 표현하고자 하는 그녀에게 대중들은 작품 COME TRUE VI의 허망의 눈물을 머금은 얼굴을 하고 서 있다. 그건 우리가 육안으로는 알아낼 수 없는 추악함, 이를테면 모발에 가려진 점이나 미세한 흉터까지도 부각되어, 보통이라면 그냥 지나쳐버릴 수도 있는 현상이 보는 이로 하여금 잔혹한 인상을 받게 하는 하이퍼리얼리즘(hyperrealism)의 힘을 느꼈기 때문일까? 대중은 너무나 사실적인 사실에 거부감을 느끼며 외면한다. 폭풍우를 무릅쓰고 바다를 항해한 끝에 거대한 벽 앞에 도착한 트루먼에게 "바깥세상에는 진실이 없다. 진실은 오히려 내가 만든 세상에 있다."고 말하는 연출자와 같이 사람들은 작가에게 물어본다 "이거 너무 사실적이지 않나요?" 진실과 허위의 이분법은 "우리가 믿고 있는 현실이 가상현실 일지 모른다"는 섬뜩한 은유와 이는 도리어 가상에서 현실로 환원하여 일상으로 돌아가게 하고 현실을 견디게 하는 고도의 "현실 이데올로기"일수도 있다. 윤지영 그녀에게 예술이란 무엇일까? 그건 아마도 단순한 현실의 재현이 아닌 현실과 상상 사이에 탄생한 리얼리티가 아닐까.

In the frame, I also have a hope and you also live just like that. In the areas of life I made…" Hello, Stranger! Art we perceived is not separated from valuable life, neither sacrificed by ideology. That is found in everyday life. When writers talk about his story in his life, the art has reality in that the writer expresses reality. Like Rainer Maria Rilke's 'Living means Art', an artist is the existence reflecting humans who live experiencing cultural and political panoramas. My works also deal with life story and share contemporary concerns and pains with audiences and formalize our common stories toward dream. However, dream is one of tools to realize needs in the reality, so it is also the criticism about humans trying to rule others by using the tool. I aim to satire desires for impossible ideals, yet humorously show sadness of men hurt and devastated during the process. Dropping tears although dream comes true is the paradox expression, and seeing through the fact that it is not easily recovered even if one regrets now. In other words, my work is for a kind of self-reflection, and through it, it makes reflect upon humans' indefinite needs. Through my works, I hope that you get energy and hope to live harder by experiencing impossible things in an indirect way and imaging it.
