Screening so many portfolios, Lee Bei-Kyoung's portfolio didn't seem so colorful enough to attract the first gaze. But with reviewing his interests on time and space as well as the formal structure of the work and moderate harmony between theme and the media, I sensed his strong self-structure as well as an artistic talent. He studied sculpture in Korea and film, video and media art in Germany. After around 10 year's stay in Germany, he had solo exhibitions in Gallery Jeongmiso and Noam gallery and took part in many group exhibitions in Korea. He was also selected as a residence artist of National Art Studio Changdong in Seoul. I think it is appropriate to grasp his artistic activity in Korea from 2003 which year he showed 2 video installations.

What Jinah Sohn attempts with the show “Blind Mind” is an altered representation of space, by exhibiting chairs in sculpture and paintings. Sohn's study of sculpture, which began in the United States in 2005, has been an experiment with the expression of the self. The artist, already recognized for chair paintings presented through a distinctive style, experiments with her own identity in space. In her most recent work shown in “Blind Mind”, the artist conducts an in-depth study of the themes 'self' and 'the other,' showing the complex beauty of two-dimensional painting and three-dimensional sculpture.

Every artist desires the final 'THING'. The world which naked potbellied Kong, Sung-hun is looking at is one that has been caricatured and broken with piles of his internal portraits ranging from 'Las Meninas' to Daumier's solitary 'Self-Portrait'. The cognition that the artist is funny and the world is on fire before the artist is the way Kong, Sung-hun loves his life. If life could be generally defined with 'birth and aging together with illness and death' - I don't think it is not possible at all - we are left with the way of 'joy and anger together with sorrow and pleasure'. A dog which looks like a pig and one which does like a penguin are looking at us while seated within the holy and desolate field which is almost like the abyss of the sea.
